Tell us about your career:

I began my career as a sophomore in college in 2016, working as a community assistant at the community I was a resident. After completing my first year on the property I began to work full time, eventually receiving promotions to leasing manager, assistant manager, and finally property manager by the time I graduated college.

Following graduation, I was offered an opportunity to oversee and manage a lease-up for a new development community in Georgia. In the middle of the leasing season, the pandemic hit the US and shifted how we approached leasing. Although faced with major challenges, we were able to effectively lease the property to 100% by move-in day that following August. I stayed on to transition the pre-leasing site to an operational property through move-in.

During my time as an onsite manager, I obtained my Georgia real estate license. A few months after the property's move-in, I took a short hiatus from the student housing industry to gain a better understanding of the residential real estate market. I joined a local brokerage and hit the ground running. I found that I really enjoyed living in Georgia, so my wife and I decided to relocate to a more permanent area. Upon relocating, my real estate career took off and I accomplished my goal of selling over $1,000,000 worth of residential real estate.

Shortly after the beginning of 2022, a previous colleague of mine connected with me to inform me that the property management company he launched was rapidly growing and asked if I would be interested in joining the team. I accepted a position as the People and Operations Manager, managing HR functions within the company and assisting the operations department. After a year of working with the internal teams to solidify the company's processes for training, leasing, and general operations, I was promoted to my current position. Now I serve as the Director of Client Services for Phoenix Management Group. My responsibilities are to identify and secure new opportunities for management, consulting, and development for the company while working with our current clients to ensure their needs are being met.
